Welcome to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania!

There is no doubt in my mind that your time here at Bloom will be something that you will never forget!! It is important to keep in mind that this university is more than the bricks that form the foundations of the buildings that exist here.  The most vital part of the University structure is the students themselves. The quality of the experience that each individual Bloomsburg student has is shaped by how each individual person handles the environment, issues and events that they are presented with.

The Community Government Association (C.G.A.) is the organization that represents the 8,000 students who take classes here at Bloomsburg.  We are your student government. We are the primary liaison between the students whom we represent, the administration, the faculty and the staff.  C.G.A. administers to more then 200 student clubs and organizations on campus as well, along with providing many of them with their budget needs for the academic year.

C.G.A. owns and operates the University Store and owns the Honeysuckle Student Apartments. It is also responsible for the operations of the Kehr Union Building and Student Recreation Center. We manage the Student Activities fees that you pay as part of your tuition and we also oversee the intramurals and sports clubs.  C.G.A. is also extremely proud to be the organization that funds all of our varsity athletics and music organizations.  We are also one of the top scholarship providers for students!!

The Executive Committee of C.G.A. is made up of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Press Secretary, Parliamentarian and Historian, as well as the student member of the Council of Trustees.  The Senate is comprised of individuals elected from among the student body at the beginning of each academic year.  We tackle every major issue that concern students at the University. It is our responsibility to protect your rights as students.

C.G.A. and the Executive Committee work very closely with all areas of the University. I strongly encourage you to get involved in one way or another, whether through the Senate or by joining one of our many clubs and sports, you will greatly enhance your knowledge as well as offer yourself amazing opportunities to grow as a student, a person and a citizen.

If there is ever anything we can do, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Our meetings are held in the Kehr Union Ballroom at 5:30pm every other Monday of the month. Our offices are located at 423 Kehr Union Building. You can also contact me directly by email CGApres@bloomu.edu or by contacting my office by dialing 570-389-4901.

I hope you all the best in the coming year and look forward to the chance to work for you!!
